David Buchler
With a career spanning 30 years, David Buchler is recognised as a leading practitioner in the field of corporate turnaround and restructuring. A former Arthur Andersen partner and founding partner of Buchler Phillips he was Chairman of Kroll Inc for Europe and Africa until 2003. His appointments have included cases on behalf of major banks, lawyers, accountants, the Courts and the Department of Trade and Industry. He is currently Chairman/Vice Chairman/Director of a number of public and private companies in the United Kingdom.
David is specifically recognised for his success in reorganising and restructuring companies. He was also responsible for representing Kroll's interest in the turnaround market in the UK and other parts of Europe.
He established DB Consultants in order to concentrate on turnaround assignments where a significant hands-on involvement at board or senior management level is required by people with the necessary experience and skills to manage a sustainable recovery. David is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Member of the Society of Turnaround Professionals and a former president of his professional body
Larry Jobsz
Larry Jobsz brings extensive experience of challenging assignments to Buchlers – commencing his career with Deloitte & Touche where he was involved in high-profile insolvency claims including the liquidation of Laker Airways.
Larry moved into corporate recovery with Buchler Phillips in 1994 where he took on the responsibility for achieving significant gains in operational efficiency for the company, a role in which he excelled up to 1999 and the establishment of Kroll Buchler Phillips.
Most recently, he has been instrumental in helping to pioneer new solutions within the insurance industry, in particular working with Spiral Solutions Limited and the 1992 and prior year losses for Marine, Aviation and property catastrophe claims.
Mark Willis
Mark Willis is a licensed insolvency practitioner regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has over 15 years of experience in the business recovery industry, predominantly with medium sized practices. Mark qualified in 1995 whilst at a Buchler Phillips, a leading independent specialist insolvency firm. He then spent 2 years at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales dealing with complaints about insolvency practitioners before returning to the profession with Baker Tilly.
Having seen both sides of the insolvency industry Mark has a clear insight into what is important to the troubled business or individual and also to their creditors whose cooperation is often key to any solution.
Mark's strong technical background coupled with his understanding, supportive and practical approach ensure that every client will receive a first class service.
Bob Knight
Bob Knight has recently joined the team to open our new office in Epsom, Surrey. Bob is a chartered accountant and Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. He qualified with a “big four” practice and has been engaged full time on insolvency and recovery assignments since the mid 80’s. In the early 90’s he set up his own firm that as a result of a series of mergers became part of a top 10 firm, which he left in late 2009 to join Buchlers.
He has many years experience in advising businesses and individuals ranging from sole traders to PLCs, and has dealt with many different industries and services. He prides himself on taking a “hands on “ role in connection with any matter with which he is involved, and he always seeks to identify and implement a “rescue and rehabilitation” solution for any business or individual facing financial problems. He has also presented at several seminars on all aspects of insolvency and business recovery.
When not working he enjoys horse riding, ski-ing and swimming and worries about his thinning hair!
