James Bryan is promoted from Manager to Senior Manager. He has worked in the restructuring industry for over 12 years and has covered a wide variety of assignments across several sectors. James has expertise in both corporate and personal insolvency. He joined Buchler Phillips in October 2022, after spending more than five years working in the restructuring department of a Big Four accountancy practice before moving to a smaller accountancy firm. James is member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and passed the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’s Certificate in Insolvency whilst in his previous employments.
Alice Fanner is promoted from Assistant Manager to Manager. She has seven years of restructuring experience working across a range of sectors and jurisdictions. Within the insolvency framework, Alice has a particularly strong track record in all forms of administrations: trading, non-trading and pre-packs. Alice joined Buchler Phillips in June 2024 after four years working in the restructuring team of EY Ernst & Young in the London and Dublin offices, before gaining valuable financial restructuring experience at Alvarez & Marsal, working on independent business reviews.
Guy Poulter is promoted from Junior Analyst to Analyst in the Restructuring and Turnaround Team. Guy began his career as a Restructuring Analyst at Kroll Advisory. During this period, he worked across a range of assignments, notably in the entertainment, technology and construction industries. Prior to Kroll, Guy gained valuable exposure to the real estate sector at a boutique alternative investment fund. His focus at Buchler Phillips is working with clients to explore business and competitive strategies, financial and operating structures, cost improvements and asset value optimisation.
Commenting on the promotions, Jo Milner, Managing Director of Buchler Phillips, said:
“It’s always very satisfying to see talented individuals developing their careers with us. These three promotions are very well deserved, not least because James, Alice and Guy have worked hard to secure the best possible outcomes for all stakeholders in some very complex assignments at Buchler Phillips. We look forward to announcing further promotions, and indeed new hires, as we continue to build on our 35 year heritage as a leading boutique advisory firm.”
